The onsens in the Niseko area are famous throughout Japan and provide an experience that simply cannot be missed. Many onsens have stunning views to take in whilst you soak, but particularly unique is the volcanic backdrop, Mt Yotei. To explore onsens in the Niseko area, hop on the Yumeguri Onsen bus. This shuttle service transports visitors between various onsen, hotels, and the main ski areas. Stops include the Hirafu Welcome Centre, Izumikyo Part 2, Kanro‐no mori, Konbu spa and Yumoto spa. Most onsens require you to bring your own towel or can be rented / purchased at Reception. Here are a few of our favourites.

Located out in the Konbu onsen area, this hotel rose to fame in 1954 when Emperor Hirohito visited the Hotel. This is one of the only onsens in the area that has a mixed pool and is popular with groups over winter who want to experience bathing together. Women can purchase a short ‘dress’ that you can wear in the water to help ease the embarrassment.
